the impact of the global economic downturn, companies are exploring ways to
increase the cost efficiency of their operations and encouraging working from
home as one
of the options. Nevertheless, digital security expert Gemalto noted that
enterprises should be cautious of the potential threat of telecommuting on
authentication security.
"Nowadays, the Internet and private networks are mission-critical assets for organizations of all sizes due to their impact on employee productivity, profitability and competitiveness. Employees, partners, suppliers and customers require on-demand access to data and applications from anywhere using any type of system," said Ng Fook Seng, Asia Senior Vice-President, Security Business Unit of Gemalto, "in view of the current tough business environment across all trades, the cost saving benefit of working from home is even more prominent than before."
